I'm a massive fan of tea and coffee but sometimes I fancy something a little different. I saw these in Asda for 30p a sachet so I thought I'd give them a go. They also boasted to be relatively low in calories, so that was an added bonus - particularly for a sweet drink like hot chocolate. I bought a sachet of the white chocolate, the orange, the mint and the original Belgian varieties. They all tasted really nice - they're definitely not the best powdered hot chocolate I've tried, but they're certainly not the worst. Considering the overall price, I'd say that they're exceptionally good value for money.

They're extremely simple to use - you just empty the sachet into a mug and pour over the boiling water. I personally don't need to add extra sugar as I find them the perfect sweetness (if a little too sweet) but others may want to add this for their own personal tastes. They all taste exactly how you expect them - the white chocolate has a milky and light taste and the Belgian variety is rich and everything you'd want it to be! The only problem I had with the hot chocolate was that I found the texture quite watery. It would probably be better if it were made with hot milk, but then this would negate the whole point of having a low calorie drink. Next time I try these I may have to experiment with half milk/half water and use skimmed or semi-skimmed milk. That's the only problem I found with these wonderful little sachets.
