Advantages: Kills those chocolate cravings
Disadvantages: Artificial sweeteners
As I sit and write this review, I have just made myself (another) cup of lovely Options Outrageous Orange, it is a hot chocolate drink that is also low fat/low calorie.
It is available in jars, as shown in the picture above, however I have got it in individual sachets of 11g each, and they cost me £1.00 for 5 at my local Asda.
The wrapper is a rectangular foil sachet, sky blue with brown and orange picture and writing on it: The information panel tells me that it contains only 33 calories per drink, which is pretty good for chocolate.
The title "Outrageous Orange" is bizarrely surrounded by the rest of a seemingly random sentence "she had on the most" <outrageous orange> "hotpants, it was really quite surprising". Can anyone explain the significance of this? I don't know!
Tearing off the corner, you can instantly smell the tang of orange mixed with chocolate aroma, gorgeous.
It's very simple to make, just put it into a cup and pour on boiling water, stir until it's mixed. No need to add milk unless you want it. The powder dissolved really easily and the hot water released some lovely choc-orange fumes into the air too.
It tastes as good as it smells too: It's creamy and smooth, and doesn't seem like a low-calorie version, it seems like the real thing!
There is a slight froth on the top too, to make it seem authentic. Although it does contain some artificial sweeteners, there is no bitter aftertaste, it all tastes very natural.
I would very much recommend giving this one a try.
Summary: A delicious treat
