Yesterday was a small celebration in the Bradshaw household, as I completed my IPD qualification, which I started last September. So as a treat, I was packed off to Safeway's to get a small aperitif to celebrate. I picked up some wine, and I was looking around for some beer, when this bottle caught my eye. Liefmans Biere de Cerises - Kriekbier. Now the label was completely in Belgian, however it was the pictures of the little Cherries which gave it away.. Now, I had only managed to taste Cherry Beer once before, when in Belgium, while backpacking, throughout Europe in 1995. One of my favourite beers is Kriek Aardbeiden. That second, long word just means strawberry. If you like sweet drinks and love alcohol, this is definitly the beer for you. It's not any more expensive that any other Belgian beers, but it tastes of strawberry. It's not a very fizzy beer, it's rather smooth, so you tastes more like a fruit juice than a beer, which could cause a problem because you'll start drinking quiet a few glasses and end up drunk. As I like sweet food and drinks, this beer is definitly for me. Too bad it's not imported into the UK and I can only drink it when I'm home in Belgium! ...  Read the complete review
