... Redbush tea, the literature informed me is made from a South African herb. It contains no caffeine (this is natural, rather than decaf tea bags which have been through a process to decaffeinate them), additives, preservatives, calories (hooray!) or colourings. It can be used for a multitude of health problems and can even be used for babies to help with colic and restlessness. It can be used as a wash or bath for skin problems and a damp tea bag wiped over a baby's bottom is ...more

Crowned Review Other Herbal Teas: The Redbush Tea Company - Redbush Teabags (931 words)
by - written on 10/11/02 (Very useful, 321 readings)
Rating:

The first and most obvious thing to say about Redbush Tea is that it tastes good. Otherwise, it would take a real masochist to continue to drink it for its health properties alone. No, it doesn't taste exactly like normal tea, but it's the nearest in taste I've ever found - slightly sweeter, with an almost nutty aroma and flavour. This natural sweetness means you don't have to add sugar, though if you are a real died in the wool tea drinker you can add milk if you feel you can't live without it. Try doing that with other herbal teas, and I'll bet you'll only try it once. After brewing (just the same as black tea - pop a teabag in a cup or ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Red Alert (1017 words)

I'm a Yorkshire lass and proud of it. Hence the fact, that my brew of choice is Yorkshire Tea, every time. However since I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis last year I've been on the lookout for products that can help with my condition without tasting absolutely vile, which is how I came to find out about Redbush Tea. Without getting too technical (or gross) about it, Ulcerative Colitis is an inflammation of the intestine and it isn't very pleasant. Certain things can aggravate it and caffeine is one of them. I cope pretty well with sticking to the dietary recommendations that I was given by the hospital, but one thing I ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Other Herbal Teas: It's Carnival Time! (758 words)
by - written on 02/07/01 (Very useful, 79 readings)

Summertime, and the living is easy, It's too hot for tea surely? Well, scientifically speaking, not so. A hot drink can refresh us better than a cold one. This is because when we are hot, then we drink a hot drink and get hotter, our bodies go into 'emergency cooling' mode, we sweat a little and are cooled. Personally, I prefer not to sweat, I prefer a cold drink. I have found the perfect solution, a hot drink that is just as delicious cold. The London Herb and Spice Company produce a rinky-dinky little number called the 'Fruit Carnival' variety pack. There are four flavours of herbal tea, five sachets of each ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review It looks like black tea, it tastes (almost) like black tea b ... (324 words)

I (sort of) gave-up caffeine in early 2001 , and until a few months ago, was very happy to quench my thirst with camomile, peppermint, rosehip and the rest of their herby cousins. But I needed a change, and I remembered somebody telling me that Redbush tea tasted just like 'ordinary' tea (you know, PG Tips, Brooke Bond, etc). I bought a box produced by THE REDBUSH TEA COMPANY, and found myself succumbing willingly to it. Thus, it is the converts zeal that inpires me to write on this subject, even after reading Ashford's *amazing* - and highly recommended - piece. My opinion of the product differs from his, and - in the interests of balance - I ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Other Herbal Teas: Sleep better without the caffeine! (384 words)
by - written on 29/10/01 (Very useful, 137 readings)
Rating:

I suffer badly from insomnia and a friend gave me a box of 'Heath and Heather,' Cinnamon, Honey and Vanilla tea bags to try. The idea was that if I drank this after teatime instead of conventional tea I might sleep better. Vanilla and honey are said to aid restful sleep and relax the body, so I gave it a try. What is in these tea bags? ++++++++++++++++++++++++++ The ingredients are 100% natural and they come in teabags complete with tags to make it easy to use them. The ingredients are: Apple peel, blackberry leaves, cinnamon, hibiscus, rosehip, natural flavourings, (these ...  Read the complete review
