Advantages: Fresh flavour, medium bodied, very lively

Disadvantages: Only in the US, Not many stores

A highly varied group of coffee's are produced by this coffee house. But by far the most popular and worthwhile is their House-Blend.

The house blend is made entirely from Latin American beans, which are medium roasted to give a well-balanced and medium bodied coffee flavour. Rather than the full darkness of serious expresso this coffee focuses on all round flavour and aroma. It's medium acidity means that it needs to be freshly ground for best taste.

If you've tried other american coffee-house blends and been let down then you should try this one. The huge chains such as Starbucks, Coffee Republic and Costa have meant that more people are able to enjoy properly made coffee, but their flavour is still lacking.

Peets coffee is a far fuller flavour. Not stronger but just more aromatic and far more interesting to drink. Although there are no Peet's houses in the UK, and only 60 in the US compared to Starbucks's 3,300, the coffee is available to buy online.

I have an adavantage that I have family in the states that send me the coffee as and when I run out. But if you order a few bags at a time it makes it worthwhile overall, considering the price of decent coffee over here. So check them out at www.peets.com.

If you do buy a few bags make sure of a few things. Buy the beans and don't get them ground. They keep their flavour far longer if you only grind them as you need them, or at least only grind a weeks worth or so. Keep the rest of the beans tightly wrapped and packed in your freezer. Again this will keep them at their freshest until you need them.

To me this coffee is a constant reminder of being in the Bay Area of san Francisco. Making the coffee fills my home with the aroma and flavour of being in the sunshine and relaxing in great surrounds.

If you like trying different coffee's then you must try this one. If you want more flavour, but not just a stronger brew then give th
is one a shot.

And if you are really dedicated go to San Francisco and really see what I mean.

ShoppingGirl - yeah, I must admit to be being a bit of an addict for Peets coffee. There's not many things that I feel this strongly about, but I'd fight you for my coffee. Cheers

Wow - you get your coffee imported? You are an addict for sure! There's nothing so good as smelling a certain food or drink and being transported to a better, sunnier place... mmmm!
My dad always said what a shame it was they introduced Orangina over here as it spoiled going to France!!
