... when you want that energy boost, click the bottom of the cup and shake, peel back the foil and you'll have your hot cup of coffee! Admittedly, that chemistry won't be enough to make you buy this coffee brand. However, should you need a real energy boost, I'd reccomend this drink over any (and I'm a regular coffee and power drinker). 1 cup of this stuff, and I'd finished my revision without batting an eyelid or even thinking about sleep. Ever since that time, I swear by this stuff come exam time. Rather than buying ...more

Okay, so I was doing a-levels and there was a lot of cramming neccessary the night before! Passing down the supermarket aisle, you'd be likely to overlook this coffee as it's not a household name. Just one look at the packaging though, and I was encouraged to give it a try. The first Rocket fuel I bought was the one shown in the picture, in a handy cup. The deal with this cup, is it has calcium chrloide stored in it (not in the drink thankfully!) and this reacts with water stored in the cup. So when you want that energy boost, click the bottom of the cup and shake, peel back the foil and you'll have your hot cup of coffee! Rocket Fuel Coffee must be one of the best kept secrets of the supermarket. I had no knowledge of this great invention until my wife brought home a jar instead of the usual Asda own make generic coffee! One mug (with admittedly a HEAPED spoonful of coffee) had me hyper and ready to take on the world at 5am! Very brief history: Rocket Fuel Coffee is made by Percol, a company with recognition in the filter coffee market. I suppose it can be said that this is one of their first instant coffee's (along with Caffé Espresso, Café Americano, and Dark Americano). Percol Coffee was introduced to the UK 15 years ago by the company founder Brian ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Percol Rocket Fuel: Danger.... (266 words)

Caution must be used when deciding when to drink this brown liquid they try and pass as coffee. I've tried the instant variety of it and it really is just as bad, if not worse than any other instant coffee but I hear they do the real stuff too. Theres only one real use for this stuff & thats to make a bonus cup. For those of you who think the best way to keep yourself going on a night out is to drink red bull and all that jazz, you are very much mistaken...the answer is... One Mug Of Coffee, between 1 and 5 tablespoons of rocket fuel, depending on how long you want to go for, 5 means your getting no sleep for the next 2 days, and as much ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review The only way to wake up (486 words)

Me in the morning is not normally a pretty sight. I crawl out of bed at 6-30 in the am, stagger downstairs, turn the kettle on en route to the bathroom, and make the coffee on the way back. By this time the kettle's cooled down enough that you can make the coffee and neck it in one for the desired kick. The problem with normal coffee is that the kick still doesn't hit until about 9am, just as I'm arriving at the office. OK, that's fine for work, but it'd be nice to be awake BEFORE I get there. So when I saw Percol Rocket Fuel, I thought it had to be worth a shot. This stuff is AMAZING. It tastes just like regular coffee. But trust ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Percol Rocket Fuel: Make sure you have your bording pass (270 words)

I like good coffee very much but the kind I go for depends upon the time of day and the situation I am in at the time. In the morning I go for instant because of the time factor, plus I wouldn't appreciate a ground coffee before going to work. I drink a well known brand though, and one that I appreciate, like Gold Blend. However, in the evening when I have more time to savour the aroma and enjoy my coffee I go for ground. I think I get a buzz from the caffeine so it comes as no surprise that when I saw the 'Rocket Fuel' on sale at Tescos I just had to have some. I had cups here and there during the week and yes, it did seem ...  Read the complete review
