Advantages: No caffine, No difference in taste!
Disadvantages: Little bit more expensive
Well I hit a no carb diet last week and the thought of not being able to have my usual 150 cups of tea a day almost had me a quivering reck in the corner, but a friend suggested Decaf tea - Decaf coffee I had heard of but not tea!
I was releived to find PG Tips have their verison and I have to say I'm not sure I will be going back to caffinated teabags afterwards!
What the box says:
If you love a great cup of tea but want to moderate your caffeine the PG tips decaf is the cuppa for you. Because PG tips pick the top two leaves and a bud (known as the tips) from the tea plant, it's the same delicious bre we all know and love but without the caffeine
Nutritional Information:
With a hint of semi skimmed milk and no sugar 1 cuppa is 14 calories with only a trace of carbs! They claim without semi-skimmed milk the tea has less that 0.2% caffeine content - perfect for a low or no carb diet!
My Verdict
I love it!, no funny taste, no funny aftertaste, and I can have a couple of these during the day on my diet - perfect! did have a bit of a headache, but I think that was because I use to have 5 or 6 cups a day - a few days later and i'm fine
Price
They were more expensive that the normal, I bought mine in Tesco's 80 bags for £2.08 where as the standard 80 bags are £1.87 in Tesco's so big difference if you are on a tight budget but I think its worth it!
Summary: A brilliant low caffeine alternative for those that love a cuppa!
