Advantages: Always the same, most stores have them, fast brew.

Disadvantages: None.

I have been using tea bags for sometime, PG Tips are my choice. I remember a time before the pyramid bags (tetrahedral shape a registered trade mark). I know the tea tastes as smooth and fresh as it always used to.

The bags come in a square box that is easily opened and can be used to store the bags (convenient for the student or entrepreneur). And can be stored for sometime (over 1 year before best before).

PG re assure us that they use plantation tips (only the top 2 leaves and a bud) 100% natural. The pyramid bags have less of a barrier than perforated bags so it’s a better way to free the fresh taste.

I serve mine in a mug with fully skimmed milk and no sugar and used to start the day with it, now I take tea at three. On my own I make the tea in the mug, for this bags are essential. For family occasions I prefer loose tea made in the pot and small cups. PG suggest up to 6 cups a day do not have adverse effects on the body. A 200 ml cup contains 1 calorie.

AROMA & FLAVOUR

No strong aroma with and without milk. Slightly bitter smooth flavour tempered by the milk (trying to cut this out), sweetened with sugar (I’ve sopped). Refreshing on to palet. It is ideal for biscuit dunking.

IT IS GOOD FOR YOU ?

Tea contains antioxidants called flavonoids found in fruit and vegetables they are good for you and may protect from heart disease. Tea can also help with the absorption of iron.

I have been taking the 250g package (about 80 pyramid bags) recently I decided to reduce fluid intake and have started with tea. The 125g package (40 bags) is a little more expensive a bag but will help ensure the last bag is fresh.
