... cordial drink. A 500ml bottle contains 120 calories. Again unlike a lot of energy drinks such as Boost/Blast/Red Rooster this drink contains no caffeine and isn't pumped full of glucose. At least not according to the label. The bottle dips in in the middle with ridges to help your grip I assume and then has one of those white caps you have to pull up with your teeth to get into. The taste is kind of strange at first but after the second or third mouthful your palette gets used to it and the flavouring becomes pleas...more

So. You've finally decided to do something about the imminent beer baby that strains against the belt of your jeans whenever you bend over, and you're fed up of being gasping and out of breath after walking downstairs. Time to get healthy, time to get fit. You join a gym. Six months later you feel guilty enough about spending all that money on the gym membership that you actually turn up for something more constructive than sitting in the suana with a bag of doughnuts for half an hour (or was that just me?). And after you've punished your flabby body for half an hour and congratulated yourself on burning off a whopping 200 calories (ie, a single can ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review A strange synthetic blue drink which doesn't work for me. (442 words)

Powerade claims to be an isotonic sports drink and is manufactured by the Coca Cola company. The label says it has fast acting carbohydrates and electrolytes. Not being a scientist or sports person most of that is lost on me. Yet with the use of 'sports drink' in the label and the english rugby, football league and team GB olympics logos on the side of the bottle and the 'ade' in the name I assume its safe to conclude it's an energy drink. The tropical berry version of Powerade comes in an obviously synthetic blue colour similar to that of those cheap bubblegum alcopops. As I do like to know what is in my drink I decided to have a look at the ingredients ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Powerade Berry and Tropical Fruits: I'm blue da ba de da ba da" (1117 words)

I am a big fan of sporty types of drink; I find they rehydrate me much better than most things after a good work out session in the gym. My local gym has recently had a lot of offers on for new products they are thinking of introducing into the cafe section and they range from health shakes and flavoured teas to health bars and sports drinks and the one that drew my attention was Powerade because with that bright blue colour it immediately catches your eye as you browse and it looks interesting. With a closer inspection of my bottle of Powerade I noticed that this product was made by Coca-Cola Enterprises Ltd and is a world wide brand which has been around since ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review I'm blue and I'll shoot at you (597 words)

Having recently had the Cherry flavoured Powerade and loving it's adult Cherry-ness that seemed unrivalled in a sector that doesn't seem to have grown in Britain as perhaps it should have done. I felt I'd give the bright blue coloured "berry" version of the drink a shot and just see whether or not it was as good as it's red brother. The colour, as you can tell from looking at it is obviously fake (and for those who care, it's E133) and for those looking to stay away from none natural additives this may rule the drink out for you already. Although it will, understandably attract children, as all bright things do, it's not actually what I'd class as a children's ...  Read the complete review

Powerade Berry and Tropical Fruits is just one of the Powerade isotonic energy drinks available from the coca cola company. These energy drinks are used by sports professionals to increase their energy before matches or competitions. This particular flavour comes in a bright blue colour and leaves your tongue bright blue when you've finished drinking it as well which suggests a high number of colourings and additives. When drinking Powerade Berry and Tropical Fruits you can really taste the berry and tropical fruits flavouring which has quite a refreshing taste to it. This makes the drink rather a pleasant one to have and makes drinking it seem ...  Read the complete review
