Advantages: nice colour, OK taste, healthy compared to many.

Disadvantages: tastes a bit artificial & left me with an aftertaste.

*** thankyou to everyone for the 'get well soon messages - much appreciated ***

I've been suffering with a chest infection & pneumonia for the past 4 weeks - is there no end lol? Having been told to rest & drink lots of liquids I've been trying out various drinks other than coffee/tea/water to add some excitement to my life.

The Princes Pure Orange Juice normally seems to be sold in 1 litre cartons for around the £1 mark but can often be seen on offer. The packaging is smart & the freshly cut oranges on the pack make it look inviting. The carton has a plastic flip-open top which means the contents remain fresh as long as stored in the fridge.

I was a bit disappointed though - the colour is authentic enough to look at but I found the taste somewhat artificial & nowhere near as nice as freshly squeezed oranges nor as pleasant as some cheaper makes of orange juices I've tried.

I found you need to give the carton quite a good shake before opening as the contents seem to settle & this makes it slightly awkward when you've already had a glassful.

However I didn't find any 'bits' (I know some adults & many children don't like 'bits') & a glassful counts as 1 of the 5-a-day, it tasted OK (if you're not expecting the 'real' stuff) & it made a change but I don't think I'd go out of my way to choose Princes as I found it left a slight aftertaste after drinking it.

The ingredient list just states 'orange juice from concentrate' so presumably it's good for you & there's a list of nutritional values which include low fat, low sugar & vitamin C - always good to know.

I've since tried the 250ml cartons which come with a straw & are very handy & seemed to taste better but maybe that's just my imagination lol?

summary
~
- not very exciting but makes a change.
- nice enough if you're not expecting freshly-squeezed orange-juice taste.
- good ingredients.
- well packaged.
- nice colour & OK taste but wouldn't say this drink is anything special.

Summary: nice enough but not like the real stuff
