Advantages: A taste similar to freshly squeezed juice

Disadvantages: A bit pricey

In the last year or so, i've worked my way through the majority of orange juices which are listed here on dooyoo, but until now, I hadn't sampled the delights of the Princes brand. I usually opt for fresh orange juice made by Tropicana or Tesco, and generally don't wander into the realms of 'concentrate', which can't compete with the flavour of its freshly squeezed rival - so how does Princes Pure Orange Juice do in the taste test?

The juice can currently be purchased for £1.07 from Tesco, which is fairly expensive considering the fact that the Tesco Premium variety costs 86p, and the Value version comes to only 56p.

Taste

Normally, one of the criticisms I have with concentrate juice comes in the form of the aftertaste, which is frequently bitter and not that nice. With the Princes brand, this bitterness is at a minimum, and certainly less so than the Tesco value variety (and so it should be for the added cost).

The overall flavour is very nice - not too sweet, and not too sour, and actually, If I was involved in a blindfold taste taste, I would struggle to tell it apart from the freshly squeezed juices - impressive! This particular juice doesn't have what are commonly referred to as 'juicy bits', and normally, I like them in my OJ - so that's my only criticism really.

If it wasn't for the high price, I would certainly purchase Princes Pure Orange Juice again - but as it's a little steep, I will probably stick to the freshly squeezed alternatives which are found in the chiller section.
