“ Manufacturer: Princes / Type: Fruit Juice „
I first picked up this juice at my local Home Bargains store because at £1 for a two litre bottle it was great value compared with a lot of other juices, and I am glad I did. We get through a lot of juice at our house, and it feels like my partner and I are forever nipping out to buy more fruit juice from the corner shop. Unfortunately, fruit juice, especially the pure stuff, is quite expensive when you're buying a lot of it, so as poor students we are always looking for more affordable alternatives. Luckily, this juice did not disappoint. It's ridiculously cheap and means we can keep buying fruit juice without feeling guilty about spending too much.
It comes in a 2 litre bottle made from clear moulded plastic, with a blue label showing the Prince's logo and a photo of the fruit. The juice is clear, tastes sweet, light and refreshing, but at 14 calories a glass it is much lower in calories than most other fruit juices. It also contains no added sugar, another plus for those watching their weight :) however it does contain the sweeteners acesulfame K and aspartame. It's also great mixed with lemonade!
All in all this juice is really good value for money and definitely more cost effective than pure fruit juices or other alternatives :)
I'm a sucker for fizzy pop but there comes a time when you are feeling extremely dehydrated and just need something flat and juicy to quench your thirst. I was rather surprised when I seen this juice in my local nisa store for £1.00. I thought this was extremely good value since it was for a 2 litre bottle.
The juice bottle is clear and the same style as 2 litre milk bottles. It has the name on the front with a picture of fruit and the £1.00 price tag also along the top of the label. The juice has no fancy packaging but just by the size I would say the juice looked more expensive.
The tropical juice contains no added sugar which makes it ideal for kids to drink as well as adults. The juice is very refreshing to taste and certainly does quench your thirst after one glass. The fruits I can taste most of seem to be pineapple, orange and a hint of lemon however this juice also contains passion fruit, apple, lime and banana, apricot and mango puree. The juice is very citrus and almost has a bitter kick to it which just adds to the overall taste. This has to be the most thirst quenching drink I have tried and the taste is extremely fruity and enjoyable.
Each 250ml of juice contains:
Calories - 22
Fat - trace
Saturates - trace
Salt - 0.2g
I am very impressed with this juice and I still can't believe it is only a pound I must admit I would pay more than a pound for this. Overall I would definitely recommend this and it will definitely be on my shopping list each week.
As I'm very partial to fruit juices, when I came across Princes Real Tropical juice with "no added sugar" for only £1 in my local ASDA I had to give it a try.
Princes items I find are becoming more popular, reading from their website they're becoming a leading supplier to UK retailers, which is great as I love most of their products.
"In fact, we are one of the UK's leading suppliers of retailer label soft drinks and our commitment to quality, service and value has helped us secure a number of industry accolades."
For 2 litres I was shocked that it was only £1 for this amount. When I got back home I popped the juice into the fridge to cool, after putting the shopping away and cleaning up I poured myself a large glass.
Very pleasantly surprised by the taste, it actually tasted like real fruit juice! I've tried many tropical drinks in the past but I have found that most do tend to have an artificial taste about them. It wasn't too sweet, and you could taste the different fruits but mango and passion fruit I found they seem to stick out the most.
This juice comes in a large 2 litre container just like the milk ones you can get in supermarkets. There's not really anything fancy about the label, short and sweet. It has the generic picture of tropical fruits, their logo and ingredients on the one side and contact details on the opposite.
Water, Fruit juices from concentrate (15%) (Orange, Pineapple, Apricot Puree, Passion Fruit, Apple, Lemon, Lime, Guava Puree Banana Puree, Mango Puree Citric Acid, Acidity Regulator (Sodium Citrate),Antioxidant (Ascorbic Acid), Sweeteners (Acesulfame K, Aspartame), Flavourings, Colour (Beta Carotene)
This tropical juice contains no added sugar and states that it contains naturally occurring sugars.
Based on a 250ml serving
It contains 8 to 10 servings of juice depending on how much you like to drink at a time, information from the bottle itself states:
Shake well before each use
Once opened consume within 3 days (easily done!)
Do not exceed use by date, which can be found on top of the bottle cap.
Overall I'm very happy I spotting this, its great value for money and a taste that matches. I will be defiantly be buying this again!
