Advantages: Ethical company, lovely box, nice tea!

Disadvantages: Some people will always prefer a Fanta...

Herbal tea is probably an acquired taste. I quite like it, although I go for either a minty one or red berry flavours usually and don't brave the nettle or dandelion. Even though I like it from time to time, I do understand why mentioning herbal tea makes some people pull a face. It is one of those things that you have to get used to, you have to educate your palate, and at first it can be just an odd smelling cup of hot water.

This tea is no exception. No, wait a minute, don't go yet! Actually this tea IS different. For a start, look at the packaging - how could you resist?! The company 'Pukka' sells herbs, and their range of herbal tea bags is made in Bristol. (If you concentrate really, really hard on not thinking about Jamie Oliver, 'Pukka' is a cute name. It is a hindi word, meaning authentic or genuine.) The boxes are so attractive. Those are gold people, in a very art nouveau style, on a pink box. even if you don't drink the tea, come on, that box is going to look fantastic on your kitchen shelf, and visitors are guaranteed to say "oooh, what's that!" when you produce it. Finally, and this is the deal clincher, this flavour is called 'Love'. They say money can't buy Love, and it is true that you don't often get the chance, but look, here is some in a box! 20 individual sachets for £2.09 (Pukka herbs website price).

According to the "Pukka pledge" - all the teas are:

* 100% organic
* Fairly traded
* Sustainable
* Traceable
* Carbon neutral
* Purely vegetarian

Doesn't that make you feel warm and fuzzy? Pukka describe this particular tea as "a sweet floral infusion of rose, chamomile and lavender to lift your spirits". None of those, with the possible exception of chamomile, are ingredients that I am used to seeing in tea, but they do work. Apparently rose and lavender are symbols of love, and chamomile will relax your emotional heart... the tea also contains licorice. If you like herbal teas, you absolutely have to give this one a try, it is available in major supermarkets or online. And if you don't - perhaps this will be the one that changes your mind!

Its funny, because I was thinking of trying herbal tea but I was worried about wasting my money on something I'd just chuck out. I'll definatly have a look for this, because you're making me a little thirsty :)

I'm boring and just drink normal green tea.

Sounds quite nice, the pretty box would probably be enough to make me buy it! xx
