Advantages: None
Disadvantages: Too sweet
Red Bull is produced by an Austrian company and it is the patent of a guy who went to Thailand, found a local drink, came back home, changed a bit the formula, patented and marketed as Red Bull.
It is meant to be an energy drink, but in my experience it is just a too sweet and expensive sugared soft drink!
I do not go our partying that much like in the old days at the Uni, but when I do a couple of girls in my party still insist in having Red Bull and Vodka at the bar, and if possible, even before going to the club. I tried Red Bull on its own and with vodka.
Since I like vodka, I am tempted to say that I prefer Red Bull with vodka, but because I like vodka, I would rather have only vodka.
I think you can get can of Red Bull at Tesco for less than 1.50, which I think it is expensive. When do parties at home we always have few red Bulls and they seem to go like gold.
I do a lot of sport, including cycling and running and I need to take energy drinks with me. Nobody of the people I do sport wiith have ever taken Red Bull because it is too sweet and it would make you drink even more, which is not good because may trigger dilution of your mineral salts through excessive sweating.
If you wish to get an energy drink, products like Gatorade for example, are much more suitable.
I would not recommend Red Bull.
Summary: Not recommended

- 08/08/09 Great review - I never new about it's origins.
I personally don't care whether I have red bull or one of its knock-offs! |
