... (apparently many methods of decaffeination can be harmful). At first though the taste was not unpleasant I used to make a pot of tea with a mixture of Redbush and "normal " decaffeinated tea so that I was getting the benefits without the strength of flavour. But it must be a taste that grows on you as I now rarely have anything else. It isn't a cheap tea I last paid £1.85 for 40 tea bags - but as the current packaging may win me tea the Ritz- that is good value. I would recommend you go onto their website because they...more

Premium Review Redbush Tea: Feel better with red bush tea (207 words)
by - written on 14/03/08 (Useful, 119 readings)
Rating:

Red bush tea is red tea that is grown in Africa. It is naturally caffeine free which is good if your trying to cut down or if you are pregnant. It is also low in tanning and contains lots of antioxidants which can help fight against life threatening diseases such as cancer. Other benefits of Red bush tea is that it is naturally sweeter than black teas and can help you cut down on your intake of sugar. This is especially good if you are dieting. By drinking African red tea I found that I didn't need to take sugar as it was sweet enough and through that was able to cut out sugar in black tea and right down in my coffee. Because red ...  Read the complete review

Crowned Review The health benefits of Red Bush (rooibos) tea (1136 words)

FIRST SIGHT I was first introduced to Redbush tea a couple of years ago while spending some time working in Boston. A cousin owns a coffee shop there, and during the course of my shameless poncing of free beverages, along with a slice of some nice lemon cake he served me some tea which he described as "African bush tea". He's a bit of a tea expert. Alongside the coffee shop he also has a fancy shop that sells all kinds of imported tea, and this was some stuff that he'd just got in which he'd grown quite fond of. I'd never even heard of this stuff before, but I was suitably impressed with its subtle yet satisfying taste. Plus it was warm and Boston is ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Redbush Tea: It's Not Just A Tea.....It's A Lifestyle! (1555 words)

Rating:

Redbush tea, or rooibos as it is more commonly known, is an age old drink from South Africa, which is revered for its unique flavour and plethora of health benefits. It is an ideal beverage for the modern health conscious world. Although it is just beginning to catch on here, in its native South Africa rooibos tea holds 40% of the hot drinks market, and the average South African is reputed to drink around 5-6 cups per day. WHAT IS REDBUSH TEA? The hardy redbush shrub, Aspalathus linearis, grows only in the scenic Cederberg Mountains in the Western Cape of South Africa. The species has specially adapted to the unique conditions of this arid and ...  Read the complete review

The best cuppa I've ever had (383 words)
by AdoraBubble - written on 01/05/09

This review is for the red box of tea by the brand Redbush (not to be confused with the other brands that are using the redbush herb in their drinks). Rooibos (meaning red bush which is where the company get's it's name) is a herb found in South Africa, it's Latin name is Aspalathus Linearis. It has many health giving properties including lowering the risk of some cancers. The products by Redbush are free from preservatives and colourants, can be consumed by vegetarians and are GM free. Most importantly they are naturally caffeine free and low in tannin. Sounds like a perfect cuppa to me. I have only tried the original variety but the tea bags ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Redbush Tea: Put the kettle on. Make mine a redbush. (182 words)
by - written on 26/05/09 (Useful, 31 readings)
Rating:

I have tried quite a few varieties of redbush tea - and I find this one quite favourable with a nice rounded flavour. Concerned with the amount of sugar I was consuming in regular black tea, I firstly began cutting down on tea and then I finally switched to redbush tea for a trial period. I immediately enjoyed it without sugar and even began to get quite addicted to it. Thankfully, I have a much healthier attitude to it now, and have stopped craving it. I now drink this mostly (with a green tea or a black tea every once in a blue moon). Rich in antioxidants - what does that mean? Basically antioxidants mop up cancer-causing toxins that come from processed ...  Read the complete review
