“ Manufacturer: Relentless / Type: Energy Drinks „
So I had a late night and was on my way to work and needed a pick me up, so popped into my local fuel station and spotted this small black bottle on their counter, with relentless logo on it, and having tried there cans and liked them in the past recognised the logo.
It was priced at £1.49 I thought to myself this seems a little steep but hey I need a quick energy boost and this may be quicker than having to down a 500ml can of relentless as it was just a 50ml bottle of basically concentrated energy drink.
Which I suppose it was, well quicker to drink but after that I felt nothing different.
On opening the shot I smelt it and it smelt terrible of what I can only describe as a chemical smell with a hint of fruity energy drink smell. Next came the taste after smelling it I guessed this wouldn't be good so I just downed the whole shot and I am glad I did because the taste was nothing like any energy drink I had in the past. It was still there was no fizz it was basically like some one had got the concentrate used in making relentless origin and put it in a tiny bottle.
I could have perhaps put up with all this if it had the same effect as an fizzy can energy drink but I still felt exactly the same maybe I was just to tired for it to have an effect I'm not sure, but I would recommend that people stick to the cans as you know where you stand with these, and they are better value for money because you also get a refreshing drink.
When it comes to energy drinks, if you read my reviews regularly you will know by now I have rather a busy life and therefore I am a fan of energy drinks in general. My favourite are the mighty Lucozade but when I spotted these 'shots' I was really curious to give them a go and I spotted these particular one's in a newsagents and on a special offer for 2 for a pound!
50ml black plastic small bottle that has a matching cap to the top of it that simply screws on/off. On the front of the bottle there is the letter R and I'm told that it is Relentless Energy Shot. On the back of the bottle I'm told a small amount about the product, ingredients and advice on how much to drink a day are given (no more than two shots to be drunk in a day due to it's high caffeine content), warnings and contact details for Coca-Cola are stated (the manufacturer of the product). It's a nice enough, sleek and smart bottle and it's informative enough though no calorie details are given.
The Shot Itself:
Well the drink itself is a light golden colour and contains no fizz so it's a flat drink. Flavour-wise it is none distinctive though fruity and smells that way. However the flavour is incredibly sweet and very harsh. The sweetness tries to mask the bitter taste but really doesn't do a good job of it at all!
However does this re-energise you? Well not for me, not one bit at all! I mean sure it contains 80mg of caffeine which seems a lot but considering that this is a shot of drink it actually contains no more than a regular sized energy drink such as Lucozade!
For me this drink didn't do very much at all but leave me with a slightly sour taste in my mouth that I couldn't shake off and no extra energy was found or boosted and I personally think that these are a waste of money!
These usually cost about £1.15 a shot in all good supermarkets etc.
