Advantages: Very effective at keeping you awake...

Disadvantages: Not at all good for you

The need to pull a number of all-nighters during my exam period at University made stimulant drinks an absolute necessity. However, Red Bull are notorious for being pretty expensive, and if you shop around, you can find huge cans of Relentless for very reasonable prices. Even at standard, non-offer prices, they are far better value than Red Bull, and are also packed with more caffeine for your penny.

The can and general attitude of the product has come under fire from some, because in its earlier days, it seemed to promote excessive consumption of the product ("no half measures") to get through the grind. A lot of these sorts of catchphrases have been phased out now after their reception. The packaging is actually kind of dark and cynical, and doesn't seem to promote the same "healthy, beautiful people drink this on a lovely sunny day" attitude that the likes of Coca Cola do.

Red Bull is the king of taste for the stimulant drinks, and thankfully, Relentless is a more than palatable contender. The colossal can holds 550ml of fluid, which is exactly double the 275ml that most Red Bull cans hold, and it's not much more expensive, and as mentioned, it's actually packed with more mg of caffeine per 100ml than Red Bull (135mg/100ml I believe).

Relentless, like all stimulant drinks, is something that absolutely must be enjoyed in moderation. I find that drinking even just three or four cans over a 12-hour period can result in mild heart palpitations and an unsettled stomach. Still, I must commend them for keeping me awake during the final exams of my degree (and somewhat helped me get two Firsts in two of my exams!). The likes of taurine are not good for you at all if consumed every day, and they are not particularly something I would drink on a regular basis. Nevertheless, for keeping awake through the grind, there isn't a legal commodity on the market better.

Summary: Good for getting through the grind but beware of excessive consumption
