I am not a big fan of energy drinks, as I don't think they are very good for you, however sometimes during the week I just get those moments where I am practically nodding off at my desk or days that I am so busy that if I don't have an energy drink I will not last the full day. I used to be a fan of Red Bull but then it was just too sweet for me which is why nowadays when I need a pick me up, I purchase Relentless as I think their drinks taste a lot better and I just like the overall image of the brand and they are very popular.
The cans of Relentless are very tall and are a brown colour with a metallic look to them. They have the logo going down the side of the can and then on the reverse they have all of the nutritional information and the list of ingredients. It's a really nice design and it definitely stands out bold on the shelf as they logo is very gothic looking and unique from other modern day looking packaging. In a typical can you get 500ml which is more than enough.
Before drinking Relentless, I made sure that I checked out the nutritional information first as I don't like taking in too much sugar. In a typical 100ml of a can this contains 46 calories, 10.4g of sugars, 0g of fat, 0g of saturates and 0g of fibre. As you can see it does contain quite a lot of sugar but this is expected as being an energy drink it is almost inevitable that sugar is what is going to give you the energy. It isn't healthy to drink this regularly but it is alright the odd time.
This drink got me through late nights at university but I have seen people become addicted to it and drinking it all of the time, that is definitely not good. As soon as you open the can you can smell the sweetness of the drink, to drink this it does taste sweet but in a right balance not overly sweet and it has a sugary taste with a bit of fizz to it and it really is quite nice to drink with food or just on its own, it is nice but it hardly quenches my thirst.
The drink doesn't perk me up right away but after about an hour or so, sometimes less, I can feel this taking effect and it does actually make me feel a lot more energetic. Relentless is best consumed in the day but not too late at night or you will never feel ready to go to bed as it'll make you feel really awake. I only take this when at work when I need energy to keep my mind going and it usually does the job just fine which is why I still keep buying it.
I'd recommend Relentless to anyone who likes a sweet drink, or energy drinks. It's really nice to drink and if you get tired easily it definitely will give you that bit of a boost you need to help you through the day or night. It is fine to drink the odd time but more than one a day might just be too much to take in.
INGREDIENTS: Carbonated Water, Sugar, Citric Acid, Taurine (0.4%), Glucuronolactone (0.24%), Acidity Regulator (E331), Colour (Caramel E150d), Flavourings, Caffeine, Preservatives (E202), Inositol, Vitamins (Niacin, Pantothenic Acid, B6, B12), Guarana.
If I have tempted you to try Relentless or if you need some energy today then you can buy a 500ml can of Relentless at Tesco for £1.35. Or, if you are near Asda Relentless is currently on rollback for £1 which is a bit better at the minute.
