But I haven't eaten anything spicy today. 'God, maybe I'm pregnant' I thought (this is based on my hairdresser telling me about getting a funny taste in her mouth throughout the early stages of pregnancy, not a wildly unrelated mental moment). Then, as I emerged from the lift (still suckling from the box and thinking I might be sick) I happened to spy the large orange lettering on the front, and indeed the back and top of the carton: 'AARGH' it proclaimed. like 'Bena me. I like it in nearly all its guises. Applebena, sugarfreebena, normalbena. I like drinks in boxes: they make me happy. So this lunch time I thought I would treat myself to a slurp of the lovely stuff as I sauntered back to the office from the sarnie shop. Box: Check. Bendy Straw: Check. Liquid contents: Check. All seemed to be in order as I pierced through the foil barrier and began slurping as if my life depended on it. As I neared the lift doors up to the office I thought I could discern a strange taste, and began cursing the newsagents for selling me a dodgy out of date carton - no wonder it was only 30p. Sweet, smooth and they taste lovely. They contain one portion of fruit too. Not cheap when they're full price, a bit thin for a smoothie and the straw drips.
