Not exactly sugar free (Ribena Blackcurrant)

I recently had a bottle of blackcurrant Ribena. We had a small office party and there were few bottles of 500ml. I also understand they have smaller versions in the 200ml cartoon.

The producer of Ribena is the multi national pharma company Glaxo and partly because of this, the drink is supposed to be healthy. It is made of water, natural fruit juice and contains a good dose of Vitamin C. It claims not to have any artifial component, nor sweetener in it.

The bottles are 100% produced out of recyclable material. They have a very trendy and stylish form and I think that much of their appeal actually comes from the packaging.

I found that Ribena is quite a tasty drink, we had it at room temperature in the office, but I guess that from the fridge it would be nicer, particularly in summer. There are far too many fizzy drinks available in UK and one of the great things about Ribena is that it does not fall in this league. For children, this should be seen as a plus, but the level of sugar in the drink is elevated and I am not sure I would recommend this to children.

I know there is a light version, which I have not tasted, but probably is healthier.

The taste of the drink lasts a long time, at least for me. In conclusion, not a bad drink, although it has too much sugar in it.
