Blackcurrant Ribena
First of all, what is Ribena? Ribena is a leading brand of uncarbonated soft drinks made by a company called Glaxo Smith Kline. The original drink was blackcurrant flavoured but now they have many flavours out including orange, strawberry, apple etc.
~ First Impressions ~
On first impressions, Ribena Blackcurrant looks like your normal, everyday fruit drink that you can buy in supermarkets around the world. It comes in a striking bright purple carton which immediately catches your attention.
~ Packaging ~
A carton of Ribena Blackcurrant comes in a 288ml cardboard tetrapak carton which can be recycled. There is also a straw sealed and stuck to the back of the carton which has a pointy tip so you can pierce through the foil on the top of the drink which enables you to get your juice. This is extremely handy if you are on the go, for children's packed lunches and can help prevent leaks and spills which some drinks can cause such as Capri-sun because of its packaging.
+ Price and Availability ~
A carton of blackcurrant Ribena can cost as little as 38 pence for a standard 288ml carton from Sainsbury's and other local supermarkets.
~ My opinion of the product ~
I remember Blackcurrant Ribena being my favourite childhood drink, however, I hadn't tried the other flavours until not long ago and I have to say... it is still my favourite! The flavour is not over powering, too sickly or too weak but just perfect in my opinion. The juice tastes sweet yet fresh and leaves a nice flavour in your mouth afterwards.
When I pierced the straw through the foil, I was pleased to see it hadn't leaked which many drinks do as they can be too full. Perfect for kids!
The cartons are small enough to be store in a packed lunch box, tucked away in to your handbag and stored in your fridge. I would recommend keeping them refrigerated before drinking for a more refreshing taste.
If you try this drink, then why not try Ribena ice lollies? They are delicious!!
Summary: Deliicccciooous!!
