Advantages: 250ml = 167% of RDA Vitamin C

Disadvantages: A little pricey at £2.16 for 600ml bottle

Really Light Ribena, No Added Sugar - Blueberry - what can I say? I was drawn by the flavour, blueberry, to the bottle, and the fact that the bottle is 100% recycled, and there is a minimum of packaging too. It is a very attractive blue colour also. I have to admit I bought it for my two fussy teenagers to try, but when I got it home and they realised (shock, horror) that it was "really light" ribena (not the normally loaded-sugar kind) they recoiled in horror, thus leaving their mother to try this in a spirit of adventure.

And yes, I am very glad I did. It is wonderful - only do remember to please make sure you add a larger quantity than normal to the glass before putting in some ice cold water. That makes the difference, as too weak is not great. Only one 250ml serving from this 600ml marvel provides 167% - yes, you heard right - 167% of your RDA of Vitamin C - so what is left to say after that? It is rich in Vitamin C (as it boasts on the bottle) and a powerful antioxidant, and "Superfruits make it" (they don't say what!!!) but give me some of them, please, so I can make it, too!

There is a tempting picture of lovely juicy ripe blueberries on the bottle and it has lovely little leaf patterns embedded in the plastic of the bottle to tempt you further into buying it - very visually impressive, and tactile too.

I can say that it is a little pricey - I paid £2.16 for a 600ml bottle - and that is more than I pay for a 2 litre bottle of Robinsons, which is our children's usual tipple, so you have to decide to push the boat out if you want to sample this lovely beverage.

I say, push the boat out and you can float happily away on a sea of blueberry bliss.....but don't take too many servings at once, or you will use up what must be used sparingly. It is nice, but at that price, a special treat, not an everyday drink. You will also keep colds at bay (allegedly) as lots of Vitamin C has helped me to weather an awful stinker of a cold my family has come down with, me having just a tiny sniffle instead of full-blown yeuch.

Have a Merry Blueberry!

Summary: Superfruits make it!
