Advantages: Tasty drinks, A good range of flavours/products, Good value
Disadvantages: Not all flavours will appeal to some people, Can be quite sugary or sweet for some
In terms of soft drinks available, Robinson’s have to be one of the best known maker of a wide variety of squashes and fruit juice drinks that pretty much everyone would be familiar with, and have probably drank before at some point. I have been drinking Robinson’s soft drinks for as long as I can remember, and they have been around for a long time, too. The squashes come in a wide variety of flavours; summer fruits, apple, apple & blackcurrant, orange, lemon, etc. These are the type of drinks that come in 1-litre bottles and need to be diluted with water to be drunk. There is also Robinson’s 'Fruit & Barley', which is pretty much the same as the regular Robinson's squash, but made with barley, giving it a slightly different taste, as well as a smoother consistency and a cloudy colour to the juice. I have tried this variety of squash before a couple of times, but am not too keen on the taste of it. They cost around £1.29 per bottle, or £1.39 for Robinson’s 'Fruit & Barley', depending on where you buy them from. The labels on the bottles have the green, semi-circle Robinson’s logo on, as well as a picture of the fruit, depending on which flavour of squash it is. There is also nutritional information on the bottle's label, as well as a list of ingredients and other information about the drink. Nutritional Information (per 100ml): - Energy: 36KJ/8kcal Protein: 0.1g Carbohydrate: 1.1g Sodium: 0.1g Robinson's Fruit Drinks contain around 10% fruit juices, and also each 100ml provides 33% RDA of Vitamins D, Niacin, B6, B12, and Pantothenic acid. There are also other types of Robinson’s drinks available, such as 'Fruit Shoot', available in 250ml bottles, w
hich I have not tried before; and also the more recent 'Fruit Spring' drinks that come in individual 440ml bottles. These are fruit drinks made with spring water and come in two different flavours - Apple and Cranberry, and Apple & Lime. These drinks are widely available from some supermarkets and smaller places like newsagents or convenience stores, and can be bought for around 79p. The Robinson’s 'Fruit Spring' drinks come in clear plastic bottles, have a dark green cap, with fruit designs/pattern on the bottle; both flavours also have a different coloured label - red for the Apple and Cranberry flavour, and green for Apple and Lime; the colour of the drink is the same colour as each label, pale red for Apple and Cranberry, and light green for Apple & Lime. They also contain 80% spring water and 10% fruit, as well as sugars, colourings and flavourings. These drinks are very refreshing, and have a delicious, tangy taste to them. Out of the two flavours, I prefer the Apple and Cranberry, as it has a nicer flavour to it, in my opinion. Also, I have not seen the Apple and Lime flavour recently, so it may not be widely available anymore. Overall, I think that Robinson’s fruit juices are probably some of the nicest soft drinks you can buy, although I am not keen on all the flavours of the squashes that you can buy. More recently, I have bought the 'Fruit Spring' drinks on several occasions, as they taste a bit nicer and more convenient to drink, and you don't have to dilute this type of drink either. One of the disadvantages of Robinson’s' drinks is that they are quite sugary, so may not be worth drinking too often. I would recommend trying any of the Robinson’s drinks, as they are tasty, they help to make wate
r more tasty by adding flavour to it; they are good value, as you can get quite a few glasses of squash from one bottle, and there are also a wide variety of flavours that would appeal to anyone; if you have not tried the Robinson’s 'Fruit Spring' drinks before, then I would also highly recommend these to try as well. Thanks for Reading. :-)

- 11/08/04 I like good old orange myself and agree about the barley thing, I don't like the cloudiness. The only problem is that I still can't make consistently good squash and still get the dilution wrong after this many years! And I'm so lazy that I usually just grab the Coke. Great op! O. |
