Advantages: nice refreshingly subtle, well-designed & handy drink
Disadvantages: may be bit small for some & in a plastic container
Having suffered from a bad chest infection plus pneumonia for the past 4 weeks (when will it END - lol?) I've only really been out of the house to visit either the doctor's surgery or the hospital - good job I've found a nice pleasant drink to carry in my bag on these exciting trips!
Hubby bought these in bulk from Costco for myself & my daughter & they worked out at approximately 43p for each 300ml bottle. They have a plastic screw-top which, although a little fiddly to undo, keeps the drink nice & fresh & ensures it doesn't spill in transit. The drinking part itself is similar to those found on sports bottles so you just pull out, suck & stick back which is really convenient.
The taste is really pleasant as it's basically a mix of spring water & blackcurrant (other flavours including orange are available) so it doesn't taste too sweet & you don't get sticky teeth or an aftertaste in the mouth even though sweeteners are added. It's a nice light taste which is refreshingly different & doesn't, in my opinion, taste artificial like some drinks.
There are only 6 calories per bottle, no fat & no natural sugars so they're relatively healthy compared to alternative synthetic drinks.
If you're very thirsty then these probably won't be the right size but I'm finding them a godsend at the moment to pop in my pocket/bag as a sip or 2 will help my antibiotics etc go down well & help lubricate my dry mouth!
Health-wise it's probably better to drink spring water on its own but if you fancy a little added taste then I'd defintitely recommend giving these Robinsons Fruit Shoots a try.
summary
~
- nice neat size with well-designed top & drinking spout.
- subtle flavour which is very refreshing.
- not the cheapest on the market but probably one of the healthiest drinks in a plastic bottle other than plain water.
- would recommend this if you want a drink that isn't too strong & doesn't taste artificial.
Summary: well worth a try if you want a small-sized, drink on the go
