Advantages: Quenches the thirst

Disadvantages: an aquired taste

I first had a taste of Roses Lime Juice when I was a small child and I’ll never forget the tangy taste it left in my mouth, since then I have drank it on a regular basis.
Not only is it refreshing and tasty but it is good for mixing with other drinks. Lager and lime, vodka and lime, lemonade and lime and a dash in the tropical fruit juice adds a bit of zing to the taste.

In the summer months this is a really refreshing drink, on very hot days it is sometimes hard to find a drink which will quench your thirst, coca cola and lemonade seem to take away your thirst for a short while but roses lime juice has the lasting effect.

There are other lime juices on the market but for me this is the original and the best tasting one, you only need a small amount of it to be diluted with water or sparkling mineral water if you prefer and a dash of it in your vodka or larger makes it taste fresher.

Roses has been around for years, it was established in 1867 and was readily available from the West Indies as most ships had to carry limes and lemons and other citrus fruits to prevent scurvy breaking out.
L rose took this one step further and made the fruit into juice. This cordial contains E numbers for anyone with an allergy so it’s recommended to look at the bottle. Lots of children get hyperactive when they drink cordial if it has E numbers included in the ingredients, as a mother of a grown up hyperactive child I know what chaos giving this juice to a hyperactive child can cause. So check the ingredients.

You can log onto www.coca-cola.co.uk for more information as this is produced by the company.
A bottle of cordial is quite expensive and expect to pay from £1.20 upward to £1.80 for one, depending on where you go to shop, there are cheaper brands but for me Roses is the best tasting and you only need a tiny amount, so a bottle will last you a few weeks. It is an acquired taste so it’s not the sort of juice that gets drank on a regular basis like the fizzy drinks but I like it when I have come back from the gym, it only has 21 calories in a 100ml serving so it won’t break the diet if your on one.
You can also recycle the bottles if your environmentally friendly. So, have a taste you might like it.

Summary: nice and refreshing

Asda do a decent lime cordial but you can't beat Roses for freshness.
