Rubicon is one of my favourite exotic juice brands available in the market today simply because of their high quality products, the wide range of fruity drinks that they sell and their reasonable prices charged. I have tried other juices in their variety from example mango (which was nice) and guava (which was not so nice). However, I have to say that the lychee flavoured juice that they offer is my favourite.
Right now, for a 1 litre carton of Rubicon Lychee Juice Drink bought from Tesco, you have to pay £1.49. That is not at all bad especially for an exotic juice drink (remember that this is not just an ordinary apple or orange juice). Furthermore, these Rubicon fruit juices are often on promotion so you can buy them for much cheaper, for example in Tesco there is currently a '2 for £2' deal which could save you a bit of money. It is not uncommon at all to find these juice drinks available for around £1 a carton which I think is quite reasonable especially for something so delicious. This makes it around about as expensive as the other juice drinks available on the market, though I do not think I have yet seen another brand sell lychee flavoured juice in the supermarkets.
The packaging is quite simple; just a juice carton which has a cap and spout through which the juice can be poured out. This is simple to operate and reseal. The design is nothing too special really; just a background design of the lychee fruits against white, with some information about the brand and the product itself. The design is functional and overall quite simple which creates a nice effect.
The taste is lovely; delicious, exotic and fruity. I enjoy eating lychee fruits but, actually, I think that this juice tastes even nicer. The taste of lychee is distinct and unmissable, as it has a really unique flavour not found in any other fruit which makes it so enjoyable to drink. Some could say that this juice drink is a little bit on the sweet side, but I find it nice and not too overpowering. The sweetness is matched perfectly to the lychee flavour in my opinion. I like to chill the juice inside the refrigerator before consuming it but this is not absolutely necessary.
This juice drink is also available carbonated in cans which I find pleasant but rather unnecessary for me. However, it is nice to know that it is an option.
Altogether, I think that this is a lovely juice drink for a good price which has a truly unique and delicious flavour that I love. It is also good value for money and therefore I would give this product five out of five stars.
Today I will review the exotic juice drink by Rubicon in the lychee variety!
I have bought Rubicon juices several times, usually at little convience shops in London as a refreshment inbetween shopping. I really like these juices as they come in many exotic flavours like mango, pineapple, guava and lychee. I get dehydrated quickly, so I often buy drinks on the go and I can't really just live on water all the time.
Lychees I generally like. I love it when they give you a little drink with a lychee in it at chinese restaurants and I often buy canned lychees and eat them just by themselves.
So I just had to try this drink!
The packaging is mainly white with a pattern of lychees all around it. On the front you get the big blue Rubicon logo and the flavour's name. On the sides of the pack, the ingredients are listed in many languages and there is also a box giving information on the nutritional value of the drink.
There is also a list of the juice's benefits. The juice is supposed to have been made of the finest, most aromatic hand-picked lychees and it's not made from concentrates. It also doesn't contain and preservatives or artifical colours. The juice is also supposed to be good source of vitamin C and zinc. The fact that Rubicon has 25 years of experiences in the field of juices is also mentioned and the website's address (www.rubiconexotic.com) is also given.
I think the packaging is quite pretty and already makes you lust for the juice!
I really liked the taste of this juice! It's sweet and refreshing at the same time, which I think rarely is the case with juices. The juice also tastes of real lychees and not artificial. It reminds me of the juice that is in the can when you buy canned lychees, but it is not as sweet. Of course the drink is sweet because that's what lychees are like, but if you like their natural sweetness, you'll like this as well.
So, I'm really satisfied with the taste! I couldn't get enough of the juice and had to really restrain myself from drinking the whole carton in one go.
The juice is also nice for mixing drinks and goes well with wodka or fruity alcohol! ;)

A one litre pack is a pound and the small cartons containing approx. 200ml cost 60p. I suppose these are acceptable prices. ;)
I think all Rubicon juices are really tasty, but Lychee has to be my favourite variety. It tastes fruity and is really refreshing! I think a lot of juices aren't refreshing and give you a sticky feeling in your mouth, but this one really makes you feel as refreshed as coke or water. I also believe the juice is a good source of Vitamin C - a perfect little nourishing boost!
