Advantages: Cheap

Disadvantages: YUKKKKK

I do like tonic water and I particularly love it with my tipple of choice which is gin! Yep it's Mothers ruin all the way for me and I love the stuff!

The other day I had the gin, I had the lime on standby as well but I'd ran out of tonic so off I trotted to my local Sainsbury's. I always buy quite decent and expensive tonic waters as I think it's an integral mixer really but I saw this on sale for 10p a bottle and saw a woman loading her trolley with them so I grabbed a couple of them shocked at the price and felt inquisitive!

The Packaging....

1 litre see-through bottle with white plastic screw on/off cap to the top of it. Round the middle of the bottle there is a white and orange sticky label and on that I'm told it is Sainsbury's 'Basics' Diet Indian Tonic Water 'No fancy packaging, no less fizz' and that it only contins natural flavours and is suitable for Vegans and vegetarians and there is an at a glance nutritional pye chart shown. On the back of the bottle I'm again told what it is, full nutritional information is given, ingredients and safety advice is listed, I'm told how to store it, the best before date is clearly stamped on, size is stated, contact details for Sainsburys are given and finally the bar-code is shown. This bottle is economy looking but it's the drink that counts and this has all of the information on it you could possibly need to know!

The Drink Itself....

Really, flipping horrible. Clear and fizzy it's very sour in flavour, goes flat almost immediately and in my view is far to sweet with too many sweeteners in it. If that wasn't enough it even smells strange.... of flowers and that in itself is off-putting! It just simply isn't nice and leaves a nasty after-taste which is bitter and hard to get rid of! Basically it made me more thirsty and ruined my glass of gin. Drank alone it's just as vile. You get what you pay for and this is really rubbish and there's not alot else I have to say on the matter lol!

Well it's a pretty remarkable drink considering they have made it very sour, far too sweet, florally and with a bitter aftertaste. Yay!! They have outdone themselves LOL. ...sounds interesting but distinctly vile! :-D xxx Great review!
