Advantages: much cheaper than branded tonics and tastes better

A few years ago I had a bad case of flu and was quite ill. I used to like my drink, especially lager and now and then a brandy but while ill I went off all drinks except hot chocolate and water. For a few months after this is all I drunk but I didnt enjoy going to the pub as I didnt want an alcoholic drink anymore but lemonade and coke tasted far too sweet for my liking. Then the lady behind the bar suggested I try a tonic water with ice and lemon. I cn honestly say I had never tried tonic before but thought I would give it a try and realy enjoyed it.

Next time we went shopping I looked to buy some to have at home but the big name brands were very expensive for what is practically a bottle of water but then I noticed the Basic Diet Tonic Water in Sainsburys and though I would try it.

I must say that it is much nicer than the more expensive brand, doesnt give such a funny after taste and is so refreshing when you are really thirsty. I like to have it in a tall glass with lots of ice and if I have some fresh lemons then I have a slice of that as well.

I can honestly say I don't miss the alcohol these days and am quite happy with my tonic water even if I do get through quite a few bottles, usually one of these large bottles a day.

Summary: lovely drink if you dont want alcohol
