Advantages: Cheap and makes a lot of juice

Disadvantages: too sweet for me and not orangy enough

After trying a few cheaper squashes of late offered by supermarkets when it came to buying this I was really in two minds about purchasing it. I get through alot of squash cos I work out daily at the gym and stuff and am permanently thirsty but the squashes I've tried have been bland at best however at the rate I drink the stuff I can't justify pounds a week on the stuff so I decided to bite the bullet so to speak and buy yet another one lol.

The Packaging:

150ml litre squarish bottle with indented ridges down the centre of it which is designed to make ease it easier to handle of course and there is a light blue screw on/off cap to the top of it. Around the middle of it there is a white and orange label and on the front of that label I'm told it is Sainsbury's 'Basics' Double Strength Orange Squash which has no added sugar and that it 'Contains 10% fruit, still a great fruity taste' , has only natural colours & flavours and there is an at a glance nutritional chart on there. Other information on the bottle includes telling me a bit about the product, a full nutritional chart is given as are ingredients and allergy advice, information on how to store it and I'm told it is Vegetarian & Vegan. Cheap looking bottle this is but it is informative enough and for such a large size it is made easy to handle which I think is rather thoughtful!

A Bit About The Product According To The Packaging:

More servings per bottle, so last longer (60 uses).
Less packaging, less waste.
Takes up less space in the cupboard
Fewer lorries in the road.
Better value for money.

The Drink Itself:

Well in the bottle it is a rich but natural orange looking colour. To make it up is easy though no instructions are given it is usually recommended that you use one part squash to nine parts water and this being quite a flavoursome squash really I do that.

I do believe this is a double strength squash but the taste leaves of it leaves alot to be desired. Add too much squash and it's too sugary tasting in an unnatural way so to me less is more when adding this juice to water. It does have an orangy taste but not zesty as such and like the sugary taste it's all rather unnatural to my taste-buds after consuming a few swigs. Due to the amount of juice I use (so it's not too sugary) I find it to have a hint of an orange taste to it rather than it being a rich really full flavoured full on drink.

This is economy but it's ok but I can't over enthuse about it but it is what it is and it isn't vile as such just weak in the flavour high in the sugar!

Allergy Advice:
Contains Sulphites.
