Basic lemonade - better as a mixer (Sainsbury's Basics Lemonade)

Advantages: Good mixer, not to sweet

Disadvantages: Not very lemony when drunk on its own

As the sun has been out this week I decided to treat myself to a glass of shandy in the garden. I had a bottle of lemonade in the cupboard that i hadn't tried yet from the Sanisbury's basic range - this is the equivalent of the tesco value and Asda smartprice ranges.

I was happy when I opened the bottle as it gave me that comforting whoosh sound and it was certainly not short on bubbles as I poured it on top of my beer - I will learn to pour more slowly!!!.

The taste in my shandy was fine and wasn't overly sweet even though it wasn't the diet version (I actually thought I had bought the diet version and only realised my mistake when looking at the label).

I tried it later on in the afternoon on its own with some ice and unfortunately I wasn't quite as happy this time. I didn't find a huge amount of flavour in the lemonade and it did taste a bir chemically and gassy - _ can only assume the beer had maked this earlier!. I have since tried it in orange juice and agin the result was OK so perhaps this is a lemonade that is best used as a mixer rather than drunk on its own.

Summary: A good lemonade to use as a mixer
