Advantages: Cheap and tasty
Disadvantages: Might not be for the tea a holic!
Before I start writing about this product, I have to tell you that I am not an avid tea drinker, I barely drink the stuff and you will often find me with a glass of water in my hand. This review is coming from someone who does not have a first class honors degree in tea and the making of it so you might not want to take what I say as gospel and read further reviews of this product from people who enjoy the stuff daily.
I paid around 30p for a box of 80 tea bags from Sainsburys which is a bargain!
The tea bags are rectangular in shape and have a lot of tea inside each bag. The box states that they are Fair trade tea bags which can only be a good thing and they come attached to each other in twos.
I may not be an avid tea drinker but I am an avid tea maker. I will often be seen slumping over the kitchen side waiting for the kettle to boil so I can take a burninig hot brew through to my hubby but on the odd occasion I will make one for myself too.
The good thing about these tea bags besides the price is that they 'brew' extremely well. They aren't like the Asda one's which need to sit for quite a while before making the water strong enough to add milk to. These turn the water a very dark brown colour within minutes and when you add the milk you are left with a strong looking cuppa. This is such a 'plus' in my eyes because I haven't got the patience to wait forever and then be leeft with a cup of wee.
The taste is far from bland. It's obviously not going to be anywhere near on a par with Tetleys but it's strong and you aren't left with a bitter taste in the mouth. You can definitely tell it's tea and that it came from a tea leaf.
If you are one of those people that have the odd cup of tea and aren't really bothered by the taste then this is defnitely a product for you. I actually quite like it and this combined with the price makes for a very satisfying drink. My hubby who loves a nice cuppa also drinks this and I've had no complaints off him so far!
Summary: A great tea for me!
