Advantages: saves money and space
Disadvantages: non really
I get bored very easily of the taste of water and am tryig to drink far less coffee and tea, so drink a fair amount of squash. This means buying a few bottles a month, so I thought I would try this and see if it cut down my amount.
PACKAGE AND COST
The bottle is clear plastic with different colour lids depending on the flavour you choose. Mine is a 1.5litre bottle, but I believe there are smaller options avaliable and this gives about 60 serves. For this you pay just £1.49 or even better buy two for £2.50.
The bottle itself is apparently made from at least 25% recycled plastic, more would be nice but you have to start somewhere.
The labels are pretty standard which ever flavour you choose, wrap around and stick plastic.
INSTRUCTIONS AND NUTRTION ETC
The small circle of nutrition is their which gives your the basic values for a 250ml glass = a trace of fat and salt, 0.4g sugar and cal 4.
Clearly stated is that the product contains no added sugar, they use sweetner with sucralose and it clearly informs of which sugars are in there, plus only use natural flavours and colours.
My flavour was 20% fruit = 16% orange and 4% mango.
Allergy advice is for sulphites and the squash is suitable for veggies and vegans.
To make the bottle says use 1 part squash to 9 part water, helpfully it says this should be less when giving to a toddler. I had never even thought about that, not having children.
Another nice note is a little picture type piece which shows how much more eco and customer friendly the product is, as is less space, less bottle, less money etc.
SO WHAT DO I THINK
The flavour I choose to start with was the orange and mango flavour. The colour was definate orange as you would expect, but looked to have substance and not wishy washy.
The orange came through nicely but their was a slightly more overpowering side of the mango, which suprised me as it was less in the product. I did like this though as orange is quite a standard flavour you get anywhere. The taste did last with you quite a while too which was good as you felt like you had a proper drink. If you forget occasionally that it is double strength, you certainly know on drinking! It holds up to it's promises and I quite often water mine down even more.
The product is certainly worth the money and the variety of flavours are reasonable, buying two at a time saves money and you can swap between flavours so you don't get bored :)
Summary: fab taste that saves money and space in the cupboard
