Advantages: Cheap and decent looking bottle
Disadvantages: Too sweet and all round a bit odd in the taste stakes for me!
I do love spring water based drinks and really do try hard (particularly in this weather) to opt for a higher intake of fluids that are healthy and hydrating as I am incredibly prone to getting dehydrated (due to eating disorder I am trying hard at the moment to combat). So I always keep a few of the Sainsbury's offering of spring water drinks in the fridge and at 42p a litre (or usually on offer for any 3 bottles for a pound) they are economical and have some rather interesting flavours (in my opinion) to buy.
Last week I purchased this one to try as I hadn't tried it before cos I actually didn't fancy drinking anything with the word flower in the title to be totally honest with you lol.
The Packaging....
Well as I have already said these come in a 1L size and are clear plastic bottle with silver screw on/off lids/caps to the top of them. On the front of this flavour there is a see-through plastic label across the middle of the bottle and on that there is a picture of an Elderflower and under that I'm told it is Sainsbury's Sparkling Spring Water Drink With A Hint Of Elderflower and has no added sugar in it and contains only natural flavours. On the back of the bottle I'm given a full nutritional breakdown, ingredients and how to store it advice is given, contact details for Sainsbury's are listed, I'm once again told the size of the bottle and told it is suitable for Vegetarians and Vegans and finally there is a bar-code on there. Nice simple bottle and doesn't look cheap and nasty even for the tiny price it costs!
The Drink....
Clear and watery really lol. It has a slight flower smell to it with a hint of sweetness that actually although it smells pleasant doesn't smell like anything you'd actually want to drink lol.
It's slightly sparkling opposed to fizzy it's definitely at it's best served chilled and in my view with some ice (and it's not bad with Vodka and other shorts either lol).
Once poured it doesn't go flat as such even if you leave it sat out for a while which is great too!
Taste wise well it's ok. It does taste flowery and has no hint of anything else in it or any flavour I could compare it to to be completely honest with you. However the only negative point I have with this is that instead of letting it just be a simple flower based water, to me, it's simply too highly sweetened with sweeteners for my liking and leaves a horrible nasty taste once drank that actually makes me feel more thirsty than prior to drinking it!
Overall...
Not my favourite sparkling water from Sainsbury's by a long shot! The Elderflower flavouring in itself it ok but the adding of too many sweeteners simply destroyed it for me personally!
Only available in Sainsbury's stores and usually found with other water drinks opposed to carbonated drinks!
Summary: Worth a go for the price if your interested!
