Advantages: Cheap, tastes okish

Disadvantages: Goes flat and is thick in sugar

When it comes to pop I'm a complete ganet! I adore the stuff and often am found slurping something fizzy!

I usually drink only coke but even I, after drinking through 8 litres of the stuff a week can get bored from time to time so last time I was in Sainsbury's I decided to invest in a bottle of this for a change.

The Bottle....

2 litre see though bottle with a dark blue plastic twist on/off cap to the top of it. Round the middle of the bottle there is a light blue and dark blue wide sticky label on there and on that in white and bright yellow writing I'm told it's Sainsbury's Lemonade 'A refreshing carbohydrate drink' and then there is a nutritional pye chart on there too. On the back of the bottle I'm told a bit about the product, a full nutritional rundown is given, ingredients and safety advice is listed, I'm told where to find the best before date and how to store it. I'm then told it is suitable for Vegetarians and Vegans, size is stated and finally there is a bar-code on there. Nice enough bottle to be fair to it.

A Bit About The Product According To The Back Of The Bottle....

Carbonated Lemon Flavour Drink.

At Sainsbury's we care about quality and that's why we have improved our soft drinks. They are now made using only natural colours and flavours. We don't use Benozate preservatives or Aspartame sweetener - this product is sweetened only with sugar.

The Drink....

In appearance it's clear and slightly fizzy... though not overly so. You can really detect zingy lemons in the smell of it.

Taste wise it's ok providing you like drinks that go flat once poured fairly quickly (I know people who do lol) and once the drink has been opened even if you make sure the lid is closed tight this pop does go flat after a day or so.

It's very sweet but sugary sweet. Remember this isn't 'diet' so it actually does taste of lemons and sugar. It's quite zingy and when you first sip it, it is very fresh and tangy and of course your mouth gets used to that but for me it becomes like a sugar water more than anything then and after a few mouthfuls due to the sugar content I do find this quite syrupy and not fizzy enough for my requirements.

Overall

At 43p a bottle it does taste like lemonade to me quite a bit. It's not too sour and doesn't lack flavour and blindfolded you'd at least know what flavour pop you were drinking. Worth a go, providing you like sweet drinks of course lol.

I find with lemonade, more than any other fizzy drink, only the best actually is worth buying. The rest are just cheap and nasty.
