“ Manufacturer: Sainsbury's / Type: Fruit Juice „
Recently my husband and I have been cutting down on juice in order to cut our weekly shopping bill down a bit. We used to buy Tropicana as it's one of the only makes that is pure juice not from concentrate, but it's just very expensive. So when I spotted this I thought it would be worth a try. A 1litre carton of this costs just £1.52 which is a pretty good cost, but it was also on offer with other flavours at buy 3 cartons for £4.00, I think that is a bit of a con as you are only saving 50p, but spending a lot more than if you would buy one carton, so I thought I was very good and resisted the offer and just got the one carton. The carton has one of those twisty caps as an opener, and it just opened straight up, it didn't have one of those annoying plastic pull rings underneath the cap. This juice does have bits, and I didn't see a smooth version of it, so sorry to anyone who hates the bits, but it's not for you. The juice itself is a vibrant orange colour, and it smelled lovely as it was poured, and the taste was really nice. It tasted obviously of oranges but it was just a bit sweeter than normal orange juice, so it didn't have that harsh tang that sometimes makes your teeth go a bit funny. It was very light and refreshing too. The juice was easy to drink, and although there were bits in it, it didn't feel thick like some juices with bits do. The nutritional information per 200ml is as follows: 88kcal, 1.2g protein, 20.0g sugars, 0 fat, 1 of your 5 a day. That does seem like a lot of sugar but it is natural sugar from the fruit so nowhere near as bad for you as manufactured sugar or sweeteners. I would highly recommend this juice, as it's not from concentrate and has a lovely sweet orangey taste. It's cheaper than other brands like Tropicana too. A great breakfast juice.
