I recently got back from a holiday in Sunny Espanol, holiday time means beer time in my language. Not in a binging 'I'm a little goblin can you take me home I can't feel my face' sort of way but in a 'I'm a silky smooth pussycat who runs on love' kind of way. In such a lovely hot climate I would usually plump for a more refreshing beer more of an American style 'ice' lager, or P*** water as it is sometimes referred. Something refreshing even if it's not full flavoured. I went up to the pool bar and asked what beers they had in the old traditional English way (raised my voice and gesticulated wildly into the air). After reeling off all the beers you ... Rocking in at 5.4 % ABV (alcohol by volume), San Miguel is one fo the strongest lagers you're likely to see on tap in a pub. As a result of its strength, and often the trickiness and costliness of stocking it, you're also unlikely to see it in most pubs, with them tending to stick to more common brand names over here int he UK like Stella and Budweiser. However, San Miguel, to me, is actually a crisper and tastier lager than most others. Originally brewed in the Philippines by a Spaniard, it is a Spanish lager that is most commonly found if you go out to Spain or one of the islands, where it is cheaper due to the lack of transport costs having a large impact. ... I love beer. I know that will not shock anyone who knows me and my normal Friday nights out but are you aware of what beers I drink? We all go for Budweiser if there is nothing else because, well, everywhere sells bottle of Bud dont they? It is possibly for this reason that so many people are missing out on the other bottled delights waiting for them in the chiller cabinet. Maybe it is because these beers are not trendy that they do not get drunk. Maybe it is because they are not as well advertised. One thing is for sure. If you have not tried it, Busweiser is no match for the cool refreshing taste of San Miguel. Most of you that have been on a ... Read the complete review

How many of you are aware that Spain is Europe’s third largest producer of beer. The only two countries surpassing Spain are Germany and the U.K. The most famous of Spain’s beers and the most well known is San Miguel. The Spanish beer industry dates back over a 100 years and San Miguel was first produced in 1957. The origins of San Miguel go all the way to the Philippines where Spanish monks started making beer by using traditional methods. The monks lived in Manila and in a district called “San Miguel”. This is how the name came about. Today San Miguel is not only Spain’s leading beer brand ... Read the complete review

I'd like to introduce you to a very good friend of mine. Like all good friend, he's been there through thick and thin. When I've needed him during the bad times he's always been there to keep me company and ease the pain, and during the good time, well, he's a complete party animal, what a guy! Ladies and Gentleman, my best mate, Mr. San Miguel! Now San is a man of many guises. I remember the time we were at that Bar-B-Q and San was acting the goat, dressing up in a 250ml bottle and piling on the strength until he was up to 5.4%. He it's his Spanish origin, and that whenever he's 'exported' abroad he seems to get ... Read the complete review
