 ... It was undoubtedly one of the nicest beers I have ever tasted. Its flavour was delicate, not over-powering and seemed to complement the sushi perfectly. I have since seen posters advertising the beer in almost every tube station. The beer is widely available from large Chinese supermarkets (such as Wing Yip in Birmingham and Croydon) as well as some smaller retailers in China Town and specialist Japanese stores. I first came across Sapporo when I was eating at a sushi bar in central London. Having eaten in the bar many times before I was surprised to come across a lager I had never seen. I ordered one, drank it, throughly enjoyed it and asked for another. Eventually, sometime later, I managed to some how communicate that I wanted the bill. To my horror, each can had cost me £6.
