Advantages: Stylish bottle

Disadvantages: Beverage is naff

To compliment the can of Sakara King, I decided to give its weaker brother a go - Sakara Gold. As the Pharaoh's must have said - two pyramids are better than one.

Sakara Gold much like King, looked promising, pouring a nice golden colour with a white head, it did however look quite flat. Smellwise there were notes of sulphur, metal and silage - basically anything that shouldn't be there. However if a man smelled baked beans for the first time it he might snub it and miss out on a delicacy, so I decided to push on through and give it ago.

Sakara Gold is light-bodied, there's no thickness to it at all and this could be down to the distinct lack of flavour other than the taste of chewing on a box which has been out in the rain for most of the year and a disgustingly bitter finish.

In retrospect giving Sakara the benefit of the doubt was a fairly foolish thing to do, it proved that Sakara Gold was probably worse than Sakara King, the alcohol a very much needed thing in order to wash away the memories of the disgusting Sakara Gold!

Summary: Not great
