Advantages: Difficult to find this stuff anyway.

Disadvantages: I could write a whole review on its disadvantages . (I just have)

A visit to my aunties in Clackmannanshire introduced me to Saxon apple juice and I would much rather it hadn’t. Normally I love any and all fruit juices but I was repulsed by this stuff, it was honestly disgusting.

When presented with the bottle you will immediately think of a refreshing pure fruit drink and when opening the bottle your feelings will stay pretty much the same as the smell is very nice but its when you begin to pour you will first be put off by this drink.

It pours from the bottle more like blended apples than a juice; it is almost lumpy it’s so thick. Although just on sight I was fairly sure I was not going to enjoy this drink, it was hot and I was thirsty and my auntie was singing its praises so I went ahead and took a big mouthful of this so called juice. It was just as it looked thick, gloopy and horrible.

This drink is too thick and even a bit dry to begin to refresh you or quench a thirst. It tastes very strongly of apple obviously but more a sour crab apple or cooking apple taste than a sweet granny smith or golden delicious taste. After drinking just one mouthful it also left a terrible bitter after taste in my mouth and a horrible sticky feeling around the inside of my mouth, not at all what I would expect from a fresh juice!

Saxon apple juice is very difficult to find thankfully, I have only seen it in one store in my area and when I saw the price (£2.99) I nearly dropped. Surely people would not pay this price for a drink that I found completely disgusting.

After a little research I can tell you that Saxon make a good few different types of apple juice (known as fresh apple juice cocktails) they make one mixed with cranberry, one mixed with elderflower and one with added ginger.

They also make a fresh pear juice but this is only made at certain times of the year. None of their juices contain artificial flavourings, preservatives or colourings which is a good thing nor do they contain any added sugars or sweeteners but unfortunately they do contain the juice itself which is horrid!

Although I was taken aback at the price tag of £2.99 my auntie tells me that down her way this stuff sells for as much as £4.00 a bottle. I personally will never drink this stuff again supposing it was being given away.

There is not an awful lot more I could say about this product without starting to ramble so I will leave it there other than to say if you want any more info you can email the company at - info@saxon1050.com

Do yourselves a big favour and steer well clear of this fruit juice it is over priced and not very good.

Thanks for reading!

Summary: Over priced and not very nice!

I forgot Clackmannanshire was a real place, my friend's dad used it as a synonym for testes.

I would easily have fallen for the snazzy packaging and bought this so I know not to now! Interesting read!
