I don't actually find many fizzy drinks all that refreshing apart from a decent lemonade. It has to be decent though not no value crap - one lemonade I love a cold glass of especially in the summer is Schweppes.
Scheweppes Lemonade comes in your standard see through 2 litre plastic bottle. The sticker around it is a little more flashy than most though being a shiny silver and metallic blue. The word Schweppes swooshes along the front and Original Lemonade - Made with real lemons is printed at the bottom.
On the side of the bottle we are told that this is best served cold and I totally agree. We are also told that this is a sparkling lemon flavour soft drink with sugar and sweeteners.
A 250ml serving contains;
46 calories
10.5g sugars
0.0g fat
0.0g saturates
0.1g salt
When you screw open the bright yellow bottle cap you instantly see the fizz inside, the lemonade has an almighty fizz that will blow if you've been shaking your bottle around believe me, so keep the shaking and knocking to a minimum to avoid a fizzy mess.
It has a definite sweet and fruity lemon smell to it which smells refreshing alone. Sometimes I find lemonades although refreshing don't have much flavour to them but this has a crisp lemon taste which is stunning. It is a dominant flavoured lemonade and works extremely well as a mixer with alcohol. I tend to drink vodka before a night out and find vodka has a bitter, nose turning taste to it therefore any mixers I use I prefer them to hide the taste a little. This works perfectly by hiding the bitterness of the vodka and leaving me with a sweet and fruity alcoholic drink.
I guess I'm not the only one who believes it works well as a mixer though as Schweppes themselves are blowing their own trumpet and advertising it as a mixer on the back of the bottle. They apparently reccomend using it to mix with Pimm's and even provide you with a quick and easy recipe to make your perfect Pimm's and Schweppes beverage.
The fizz that I mentioned above doesn't fizzle out within minutes either. In fact I have even kept a bottle of this, already been opened and reused in my fridge for around 4 days and for the whole 4 days the fizziness remained strong. After those 4 days the fizz did begin to lessen and slowly disapear but after buying lemonades in the past which have lost their fizz within an hour this was impressive.
You can even buy this lovely lemon tasty lemonade in a Diet version too which I don't believe loses it's lemon flavour I just don't find it as sweet.
I love this lemonade and would reccomend it to anybody that enjoys a refreshing lemonade drink now and then, it is roughly £1 in most supermarkets and it is definitely worth every penny in my opinion!
