Advantages: Variety in small packages, Nice tastes
Disadvantages: None
When I went up to Scotland I purchased 2 Bottles of malt whisky and received a presentation box containing 6 Double matured malt whiskies in miniature. These are: 1) Glenkinchie 2) Dalwhinnie 3) Cragganmore 4) Oban 5) Talisker 6) Lagavulin These are from each of the 6 distilleries in Scotland. 1) This is from the Lowlands. It is a mixture of sweet and dry flavours, and is finished in Amontillado cask-wood. The taste is very intense and smooth. Very enjoyable 2) This is from the most remote of the Highland distilleries which is also the highest. This is my favourite whisky. It is exceptionally smooth and full of flavour. It is finished in Oloroso cask-wood. 3) This whisky is from Upper Spey and has a dry, malty taste. It is finished in Port-wine cask-wood. 4) Oban is from the Western Highland and rates as my 2nd favourite. It has a rich fruit flavour and is delicately dry. This is finished in Montilla Fino cask-wood. 5) This whisky is from the only distillery on the Isle Of Skye (or Isle Of Mists). I enjoy this one as well, as is has a peaty and spicy taste. It is finished in Amoroso cask-wood. 6) This is from the Islay Island. I am not sure on this one as I have not tried it. I will continue to enjoy malt whiskies.
