Oh, this product is betwixt and between for me. It's giving me a major headache (it certainly will after drinking it if you're lucky enough to remember it) so I'm going to give it three stars. I'll tell you now it'll be 5 stars for some people and 1 for others, it all depends on that individual. So, me, being a bottle job (even if it does come in cans) will pitch it at 3. Ok, let's indulge in a bit of time travel. I haven't got a tardis (I've a Fiesta instead) but I recall a summery day way back in around 1993 or was it 1994. Anyway, work was over and we decided to reward ourselves with a little journey to the local hostlery for some well earned liquid ... Read the complete review

OI LOIKS COIDERR!!! The above sentence, is my best literary attempt at writing the sentence "I LIKE CIDER." in a English country accent. It is not intended to insult anyone, or to extract the michael out of anyone who resides in any of the major cider making areas of England. It simply expresses, in words, the type of mental image I get when I drink a good cider. You see, these cider-supping countryfolk, or wurzels, as I believe they are known, have things all worked out. Here we are, drinking beer or lager without ever fully quenching our thirst, and there they are still able to wear a sack cloth, and suck on a bit of corn in ... Read the complete review

Scrumpy Jack’s the cider I now tend to go for, on those days when I feel like a bit of a change from my more usual beer or lager. It’s made by Symonds, whose Cider Mill, in Hereford, has been producing cider since 1727 – and they claim to be the oldest cider making firm in England. Scrumpy Jack itself was first made in the 1960’s. There’s a very good website - www.scumpyjack.com - where we are told that Scrumpy jack is “the No.1 brand” – and it certainly seems to have become very widely available in recent years. THE DRINK It’s made using many different varieties of apple, most of which I have never ... Read the complete review

I hadn't had Scrumpy Jack for ages until very recently. I decided I was in the mood for some cider while the weather was really hot last weekend, and was torn between a four pack of Scrumpy Jack and a four pack of Strongbow while I was in Tesco. They were both around the same price, £3 for four cans, but Scrumpy Jack won the fight for having the higher acohol content! This is described as being a dry cider, and I think it's important to appreciate that it's got a dry taste to it but that it's still really refreshing. I love the strong, crisp apple taste of this brand, and that it's strong and fruity without being too sweet. I do like sweet things, but not ... Read the complete review

Yep thats right, I am sampling a nice cold Scrumpy Jack - well it is Saturday night, and I have to have something to help me through the missus watching the dreaded X Factor! Scrumpy Jack is a Premium English Cider, available in many Off licences / supermarkets etc in 500ml cans, which recently had a little change of design, from the cream and gold cans, to the new green and gold cans. Made by Symonds, and at 6% alcohol / volume it doesn't take too many of these to leave you with a sore head in the morning. The taste is nice and sweet, and crisp, and I guess it's main competitor is probably strongbow. Scrumpy Jack is crafted using ... Read the complete review
