Advantages: Tonnes to choose from
Disadvantages: Quite expensive
For weeks and weeks my hubby and I have strolled past the Shakeaway in town but we are always put off by the price so never actually enter inside until a few weeks ago. Needless to say we haven't been able to past it without buying a shake since that moment on.
Shakeaway is, as the name would suggest, a shop that makes milkshakes however the milkshakes are out of this world. They blend the basics together which is of course milk and ice cream but a long the back of there counter there are tones of sweet treats that you can add to your shake. There is a board hung inside the shop with specific shakes but you can also invent your own at an extra cost.
My hubby always has the Reeces peanut butter cups which I have to admit tastes amazing. It does have a name like 'George' or something like that but I can't quite remember. I like to try different ones each time because I feel like I'm missing out. I really enjoyed the apple pie with cinnamon because I love apple pie and I did have one with a Snicker bar in which was lush as well.
The good thing about this shop is you can let your mind run wild and have just about anything in your shake. The other good thing is that they cater for allergies and things so you just need to let the 'blenders' know and they will use soya milk instead or try to accommodate to your needs. It's also great that you are getting some of your daily calcium intake even though you are enjoying yourself at the same time.
The bad thing about the place is the cost. The cheapest price you will pay is £2.75 for a regular which isn't cheap but they are very nice and I don't think I could get the same affect if I tried it myself at home. The other bad thing is that the whole shop is very Americanised with the same décor as a diner you'd see in a film. I know some might not think that is bad but when I try to sit on one of those high stools I nearly come off the other side and I'm pretty sure that these stools would not be substantial enough for someone with a fat arse.
Over all this is a place to go as an alternative to a pudding after a meal out or just as a treat every now and again. I guarantee your eyes will pop out of your head when you see the 100's of choices available!
Summary: Yum!
