Advantages: Loads of flavours, great taste

Disadvantages: Mainly the price

Shakeaway is a milkshake shop chain, based in the UK. At the moment, there are just over 50 shops in the UK, with several more on the way, so they are a fast growing company, and they've only been around for a couple of years. They also have one shop in Melbourne, Australia, and one in Cyprus, so they're international, and could be something much bigger in a couple of years, so I'd recommend visiting now. Because there are so many advantages, I'm going to start with the disadvantages.

Disadvantages

The first thing that comes to mind is the price. To buy what you see in the picture (which is a regular) with no toppings, only one flavour, no extra thick extra (the bare minimum) it's £2.70, so you can't buy them regularly unless you're very rich, so they're only a special treat for me. To get large you have to pay £3.70, and you don't get that much extra, so the value for money is pretty poor. You then pay 70p extra for each extra flavour, and another 30p for extra ice cream to make it thicker. Toppings are 30p and whipped cream is 40p, which is far too expensive, so I only ever get the regular with no extras.

You can also get special named Shakeaways with two flavours and a topping that you don't get to choose yourself, for £3.40 regular, and I've only ever had one of these once, and it was nothing special compared to the normal shakes. If you don't like loud music, you might not like the shop, because sometimes they play very loud music (which is quite often rubbish) and this can be annoying at times, but they don't always do this, it depends who's working there on that day.

Advantages

Entertainment

There is quite often music played, which can occasionally be good and played at an appropriate volume, so I like that about it. There is also a table football table in most shops, which I play while I'm waiting for my shake.

Flavours

This is the best, unique thing about Shakeaway, there are so many flavours! You can be as original as you like, with a huge choice of over 100 flavours, which you can have 2 of in one cup, as well as the toppings, and the extra thick etc. Every flavour I have tried so far I have loved, some more than others obviously, so there's bound to be something for you! There are lots of flavours that may sound sickly, but don't be put off, because they all taste great

There's something for everyone at Shakeaway. If you like chocolate, there are most chocolate bars, as well as muffins, brownie, biscuits etc. There's also as many fruit flavours as you could think of, as well as sweets, cakes, coffee etc. There's even tic-tacs and doughnuts, so there really is a huge choice

Not only do Shakeaway sell shakes, they also do lots of cold and hot drinks, chocolate bars, sweets, and Pepperamis for some reason, but these can be a little expensive, as with the shakes.

As well as the flavours making Shakeaway individual, the colour scheme is blue and yellow so it's bright and attractive, and the posters around the shops are weird and wonderful, so the target audience is fun people, mainly younger people, but I also see a lot of adults going in there, and I can't blame them!

If you're a student you get 10% off, as well as being in the Army and other things, and you can get a loyalty card, so every time you buy a regular Shakeaway, you get a stamp (or 2 for large) then when you get 10 you get a free Shakeaway, and not only that but they are creating lots of offers, like money off with Clubcard points, word searches that earn you half off, tombalos, scratch cards etc.! It really is a great place to go, and I love it there, it's just a shame it's so expensive.

In conclusion, I would definitely recommend trying out Shakeaway, but try not to get addicted to them, as you will soon feel a hole in your pocket!

Summary: Try it out, you'll like it!
