... summer ale produced using Kentish malt and Goldings hops (hence the name!) ~ according to the brewery web-site (http://www.shepherd-neame.co.uk/index.h tml) these ingredients are "taken from the fields within 5 miles of the Shepherd Neame Brewery". It is available in 500ml bottles and as a cask ale. Looks wise, Goldings IS a clear golden colour, verging on a light rich amber. Ok...so as soon as I start to write about a summer beer it starts to rain! My next op will about umbrellas ~ that'll show this weather! I'll carry on regardless and tell you about a beer I sampled last week when it WAS hot and sunny and it WASN'T raining! It was Chesterfield's annual Medieval Market and my mum and I decided to have lunch in the Rutland Arms (one of our few decent Real Ale pubs).
