Advantages: Typical average Asian beer, drinkable, light taste

Disadvantages: Unspectacular, nasty hangovers when drunken in any quantity!

This is another beer from South East Asia, this time from Thailand.

This weighs in at 5% vol. Pretty strong then. It's always in Tesco at around the £1.70-80 per 680ml bottle mark.

The logo is actually fairly minimalistic. White and gold. Nothing over elaborate or pretentious.

How does it smell? The smell is not at all overpowering. It's definitely a lot more malty than other Asian beers. Other than that, it's hard to say!

On pouring we get a very thin head that doesn't last very long at all. It's a pale yellow colour and carbonation looks to be fairly high.

The taste test: Initially sweet and malty, but ultimately watery and light bodied with a slightly dry and bitter finish. A lot of Asian beers follow the same trend, unoffensive, not at all unpleasant, but nothing at all ground breaking.

But in the tropical heat this is kind of exactly what you desire; I don't think something like a wheat beer would be very appropriate for 35 degree heat. So I think these types of largers are valuable in certain situations.

This is nothing at all ground breaking.

The drinkability? I seemed to suffer nasty hangovers off the stuff, even worse than Tiger beer (another SE Asian Beer). It could just be that these drinks are so easy to down due to possessing such a light bodied watery flavour, yet you have to remember they are 5%, even if they don't taste 5%. I think a lot of people get caught out!

Another one i'd drink over the big brand international chemical laced brews like Stella UK, but not a touch on German, Belgian or even Czech pilsners.

6/10

I really like this beer - and yesterday my boyfriend came home from work with a Singha t-shirt for me!

I only ever have this with Thai food at the restaurant - it doesn't seem to taste the same out of context LOL. Nicely covered here 8^)
