Smirnoff's best left to the young ones,yet to be educated in the niceties of alcoholic taste (Smirnoff Vodka)

Advantages: Cheap and will remind you of a time gone by.

Disadvantages: Tastes horrible, so wouldn't buy.

The only variables for me which alter which alcohol, including spirits, I buy are cost and taste. So it is personal. For me the cost of Smirnoff is so ridiculously low that if I needed a large supply (for a party of something ie in excess of 10 bottles) I would opt for Smirnoff as I can not sink as low as buying "White Spirit", just to drink!

So then it all comes down to taste, which over the years have changed. I have to say Smirnoff was my choice in my first couple of drinking years and like most others I could quiet happily drink (shot) it straight and have it with mixes. Then as years progressed i found that I hated the taste of it, far far too bitter and could feel the burn at the back of my throat. The taste with mixes is also quite off putting now. It is almost a stale taste and one which I only have when all my taste buds have been quite happily put to rest by gallons of other nicer tasting drink.


So for me taste: BAD cost: GOOD -which means that if a punch called for a small amount of vodka then I would use it (although I'ld test the recipe first), but for anything where the taste will be prevalent then I would steer well away.

Summary: Good for anyone who want to marvel at how we could ever have shot this?
