Mmm Sourz. The thought of downing shots usually fills me with dread as the things usually taste like paint stripper, but Apple Sourz, the wimp shot of choice, is different. Weaker than things like tequila and sambucca by far, it also tastes about ten million times better. Shame about the low alcohol content! The looks Apple Sourz comes in the standard 70cl bottle size with an apple on it, the word "Sourz" and a black lid. If it wasnt for the radioactive green liquid inside, the packaging could be described as a bit on the boring side, but the colour of the noxious brew states what this stuff is...designed for students and for those ... Whenever I'm out with a few mates for some drinks, one of us will normally say "Sourz?", and we'll grab a few each, line them up, and try and down them in the quickest time possible. Sourz is a brand of flavoured liquers that have a volume of 15%, and so are fairly weak when compared to the likes of JD and Southern Comfort, but they're a nice drink to fill rounds if you're waiting for people to catch up, or fancy a change from something as voluminous (liquid wise) as a pint. Unlike Aftershock, for instance, Sourz has, as the name implies, a very sour taste, which may be simply too much for some tastes, but it's still relatively easy to drink because ... I've never been much of a drinker! I usually find I hate the taste and the alcohol is pretty much the only thing I can taste. When I went to my prom, I was convinanced by my classmates to try some shots. The first and second roudns bought were Sambucca. Although I managed to swallow and keep down my first shot, althoguh I'm still positive I swallowed the second one it ended up down the front of my dress. I then tried Archers as a shot, but although that was better I still didn't like it. Then I went to a party a few days later, where I had a shot of apple sourz. I actually liked the taste, and the alcoholic taste was barely noticable. The sourness does ... Read the complete review

I was reminded last night of a drink I used to love and hadnt had for quite some time, oddly when I got home I found I still had a bottle tucked away in my drink shelf. So I happily consumed rather alot of it - people please note it is not big nor clever to drink alone nor to get drunk! That drink I had forgotten is Tropical Sourz, a student bar staple the Sourz range is vividly coloured, and as its name implies sour to taste though in sour in the same way Haribo tangfastics are, they are generally among the budget shooters in the bar. It has a very distinctive bottle shape, a fairly long narrow neck, then a wide shouldered cylindrical bottom portion with a ... Read the complete review

During a 21st birthday party at the weekend I was introduced to a drink called Apple Sourz. This drink is imported from the USA and is produced by Jim Beam Brands. It comes in a variety of flavours such as cherry and pineapple but I will be reviewing the "apple" flavour. Currently this fruit liqueur will cost around £10 from Tesco for a 70cl bottle and the alcohol content is relatively low at 15%. The clear glass bottle has a large label on it with the word SOURZ in large black lettering. The only clue it gives to the ingredients is that it is made from Genetically modified corn which is a little strange. I had this ... Read the complete review
