I am not much of a drinker, you know just the sort to binge at the weekends on far more than I should and end up in bed all day with a stinking headache. This particular drink is however my drink of choice and I believe that many people of my age think this is a particularly fantastic drink.
I can drink it straight, with coke or my particular favorite which is with lemonade. This drink is good for both in the summer when drinking it with lemonade is very refreshing or drinking it in the winter straight warms you right from the inside out.
A whole bottle of this Southern comfort is fairly expensive at around £16 but you can buy smaller bottles the smallest one costing around £8. In Tesco’s there is a similar cheaper version which for a 70cl bottle costs about £12.
The taste of the whisky really is unlike all other whiskies I have tasted as this one is really very sweet. The colour of amber nectar and a rather more thicker consistency than most whiskies i.e. Famous Grouse. The sweet flavour can sometimes be over powering if you are drinking it in a large quantity so I suggest drinking it with either diet coke or lemonade so as not too get too much sugar.
At a pub this drink is widely available and you would be looking at paying pretty much the same for this as for any other spirit with mixer.
I really do rate this drink and suggest that if you haven’t tried it then you really should do. I would say it is totally different from the drinks such as Jack Daniels as this is the sweetest whisky where as Jack Daniels I would say is the total opposite.
Summary: a great tipple
