... way from New Zealand to England "for a mate!" Failing that The Walkabout Bars always stock it! It is, really a lager (sorry but what the Kiwis call a bitter is just not one) so serve Speights cold. It is great with a BBQ or a curry. It is gently fizzy and refreshing and has a malty taste. It has won all sorts of medals in New Zealand, but would not beat a Belgian beer at a competition. Having said that it is vastly superior to Fosters, Castlemaine and VB. Speights. A fine New Zealand beer, or so the advertising goes. Well having lived in New Zealand for fifteen months and been married to a Kiwi for a year and a half I have tried a number of different Kiwi beers. Speights is brewed in Dunedin in the South Island of New Zealand. If you are ever there it is well worth a trip to the factory to see it being brewed and then taste some of the beer. The beer is reasonably priced at anything between £1.00 - £2.00 where you can buy it in the UK.
